Students will plan, carry out, and evaluate a community service project. They will put faith into action. This is a yearlong project. Students will be given due dates. Objective: The students will use 21st Century Skills in Religion to demonstrate faith in action. Procedure: Students will:  Think about and discuss ways that people use their gifts and talents in service for others in the community, brainstorm and identify interests, needs, talents, and skills.  Form groups or teams with similar interest and brainstorm ways to use their talents in service to an organization. Secure at least one parent for their team  Use critical thinking, collaboration, and communication with group members  Communicate with the organization they want to help with written and verbal communication  Design a project to meet the identified needs of the organization. Included in the tasks will be: o Group name and logo o Timeline o Budget o Tasks and people responsible o Materials o Resources  Request feedback from the organization and reflect on the success of their project.  Record and document the process then present their project to an audience  Be mindful of the application of the St. Cyril of Alexandria Student Learning Expectations and their presence in this project. o Active Christian o Lifelong Learner o Effective Communicator o Responsible Citizen o Self-Aware Individual Products: Group name and logo Business Letter Timeline Task responsibility chart Journal of meetings Evaluation of success and suggestions Video presentation documenting the process and what the group learned
