Saturday May 4, 6.30-7.30 pm (refreshments from 6-6.30 pm): Bhakti Isai - an evening of devotional songs from the Carnatic tradition by Ms Janaki Balaji and group with mridangam percussion by Mr K G Prasad. The programme also features 10th century Tamil devotional poetry that is shared by Thailand and India. Friday May 17, 6-7 pm Eastwest Harmonies: an evening of melodies from India and Europe by an international group of musicians: vocal - Ms Kala (Carnatic), Ms Allyson Briner (Western); percussion - Ustad Vasi Ahmed Khan (tabla), Mr K G Prasad (mridangam).
Saturday May 18, 6-7 pm Malkauns and Bhairavi: explorations on the sitar of these two superbly melodious and mysteriously haunting ancient musical scales by Ustad Matloob Hussain Khan. Tabla by Ustad Vasi Ahmed Khan.
Thursday May 23 , 2.30 pm Special films in honour of Visakha Puja/ Buddha Purnima * Healing the World (24 mins) (on Ayurveda) * The Healing Tree (27 mins) (on the helpful properties of nature and why trees are the object of reverence in India and other cultures)
