Overview of HTA Core Model Training Materials

Overview of HTA Core Model Training Materials Training in the HTA Core Model was organised within Joint Action 2 in two different formats: 

A general overview of the Model, as well as a brief demonstration of its use, was given during the WP2 training days/courses, where the session(s) on the Model was/were embedded within a full-day course that covered several other EUnetHTA themes too. Such training was organised for EUnetHTA partners and associates, as well as for stakeholder representatives. More in-depth training in the Model and the online tool was given within specific HTA Core Model training courses, organised by WP8. These courses focused on the Model and its utilisation only and other EUnetHTA tools were not covered. The courses’ content was a mix of theoretical and practical (hands-on) training in the Model and its use, and specifically in using the HTA Core Model Online.

This document contains an overview of HTA Core Model training materials produced for these two settings. A selection of the most recent versions is included, most of them publicly available. The majority of the materials has been produced to support self-learning and – if not otherwise specified – can be used as such, without specific further guidance in the form of lectures or courses. On the other hand, the complexity of the overall HTA process and realizing the possibilities of the new tools in the process most likely requires that interactive training methods (for example hands-on training courses) are offered in the future in parallel with the self-learning materials. Some of the key materials listed below have been included also in the HTA Core Model Handbook. Since the documents may undergo changes in the future, the Handbook should be viewed as the primary source listing the most recent guidance documents (but not necessarily all presentations and teaching materials of various courses). HTA Core Model User Guide A general introduction to the Model and its utilisation in different settings. While the focus of the guide is in using the Model within HTA projects, it is likely to be useful in other health-related research projects as well. Available through the Handbook at www.htacoremodel.info/ViewHandbook.aspx (public). HTA Core Model Online User Guide A practical guide for using the HTA Core Model Online. With the help of this guide anyone can make use of the online tool in their HTA project. The guide covers a full project from start to finish. Available through the Handbook at www.htacoremodel.info/ViewHandbook.aspx (public). Training Course Materials The materials used during the HTA Core Model training course. While some of the 71 slides are intended for interactive, hands-on training sessions, much of the material is self-explanatory and can be utilised for self-learning.
