Distinguished Alumni Frank Hill Frank Hill is a 1964 Graduate of West Vigo High School. After graduating from West Vigo High School Frank went on to college and earned a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from Indiana State University. Frank continued his education after ISU and earned an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan College, while working 12 hours a day. For Frank’s entire 38 year career he worked at what is now Duke Energy. Frank climbed the company ladder through his hard work, determination and by getting himself noticed working sometimes two shifts a day. His bosses took notice that he was intelligent, made good decision while under pressure and always volunteered to work that ultimately he was promoted to the Outage Manager of the entire utility when he retired. That meant when the power went out Frank was in charge of getting it back on. After retirement Frank has started his own private consulting company that writes procedures for the utility companies. Franks work with the school and the community has been amazing. Frank was the President of the West Vigo High School Booster club, where he raised money for many of the athletic facilities that we have today. He started the athletic booster club scholarship and has been a voice in our school since he graduated. Franks greatest accomplishment has been with the West Vigo Community Center. Frank assumed control of the community center at a time when it was going to close its doors. The Community Center owed over a $100,000 and could no longer sustain itself. Frank provided the leadership to create a group of people that found ways to erase the debt. The time and money (yes part of this was Frank’s
personal money) helped save the community center. If you ever visit or use the community center you have one person to thank for its existence and that is Frank Hill. Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and his home in Florida. Please join me in welcoming Frank Hill as a member of the West Vigo High School Hall of Distinction.
