Obamacare’s Regulatory Morass Welcome to the Health Freedom Minute. This is Twila Brase, president of Citizensʼ Council for Health Freedom. The founder of Home Depot says Obamacare is “probably going [to] end up being 150,000 pages of regulations.” Thatʼs at least five times the number of pages in Obamacare. Every regulation has the full force and effect of law even though Congress never took a vote. In an average year, according to the American Spectator, “Congress will pass about 200 bills and agencies will enact over 3,500 regulations.” The annual burden of federal regulations is $1.7 trillion dollars. The authors at American Spectator suggest Congressional repeal committees, automatic expiration dates, and a constitutional amendment allowing States to repeal federal regulations. How about eliminating rule-making altogether and forcing Congress to take votes on every federal requirement?
