Tell Congress to Just Say No The health plans empowered by the Affordable Care Act threaten to raise health insurance premiums unless Congress approves the billions in cost-sharing subsidies that Obama paid them without Congressional approval. This payment was unconstitutional so the U.S. House sued. Congress should ignore the threat. The Congressional Budget Office says most increased premiums would be offset by higher premium subsidies paid to health plans. Thus, the plans get paid and most people with subsidies won’t feel the increase. But health plans want the cost-sharing subsidies approved so plans can raise premiums in future years and get both the costsharing subsidies and higher premium subsidies. Tell Congress to just say no.
