Obama Neglects the Poor A recent study by a Georgetown University researcher found that President Obama mentions the poor less than any president in decades. In his public announcements, Obama mentioned the poor only 25% of the time. In contrast Ronald Reagan talked about the poor 66% of the time. Arthur Brooks, author of “The Road to Freedom,” says the poor need increased opportunity which requires jobs. Yet Obama wants a higher minimum wage which leads to job losses for the poorest workers. The poor also need less red tape to start new businesses. But the Administration has added taxes, regulations and Obamacare.
