Health Freedom Minute June 1, 2012

UP on Down's Syndrome George Will recently wrote about his son, Jonathan, born 40 years ago with Downʼs Syndrome, a chromosomal defect. He was born 8 months before Roe v. Wade allowed parents to abort their babies. There are 400,000 American citizens with Downʼs Syndrome. Judging by Jonathanʼs nice personality, his father suggests the world might be better if more people with Downʼs Syndrome filled it. But he notes that the baby boomerʼs sense of entitlement to a life exempt of natureʼs mishaps has led to 90 percent of children with Downʼs Syndrome being killed in the womb. Meanwhile his son takes the subway to the baseball stadium 81 days a year and cheers for the Washington Nationals every time. “A life well-lived, given the chance,” George F. Will, Star Tribune (Washington Post), May 3, 2012.
