Florida Bans Biometric Profiling of Children Florida has banned biometric profiling and tracking of children. Biometrics are data collected from the electronic measurement of physical and behavioral characteristics that identify a single person…Examples includes fingerprints, hand scans, retinal scans, voice prints, facial scans, even DNA. The unhappy biometrics industry says legislators are only looking at the risks of biometric scanning. They say children lose passwords, but never fingerprints. However, Arab schools are already using fingerprints for tracking and discipline. Do you want your child educated to accept lifelong biometric controls? Ask your legislators to pass a biometric ban in your state. Florida Laws, Chapter 2014-41 “Florida bans biometrics in schools, and the industry’s ‘emerging fight’ against it,” Biometrics in Schools (blog), April 18, 2014. “Florida governor signs biometric ban,” Gina Jordan, Secure ID News, May 13, 2014. “Private schools urged to use fingerprint systems,” MENAFN – Arab News, April 16, 2014.
