Are You Willing to Leave the Racket? There’s a schism in the minds of Americans. People who will pay $250 a night for a hotel or $110 for a football game can’t imagine paying for their own medical care. Even worse, they don’t realize their benefits at work are boatloads of cash wages that employees never see and have no control over. Thus, health plans are making out like bandits because they get the cash and are empowered by law to restrict use of these dollars for patient care. And Obamacare has made everything worse and less affordable. Meanwhile these third-party payer systems make medical bills more expensive because of all the mind-numbing paperwork. It’s a racket.
