Specious DNA Related Virginity Claim
The title “Shocking New Study Links DNA to When You Lose Your Virginity” is a title that is meant to capture your attention. But specious claims like this is just one reason our organization asks you to protect your child’s DNA at birth by doing private newborn screening rather than government newborn screening. One of these “loss of virginity” genes is supposedly also linked to drinking, smoking, and having more children. But do they even know what they’re talking about? Even worse this study views human beings as mere products of our genetic code; as though upbringing, parents, church, conscience, mores and ethics are not part of the picture, when they are key.
