We Don't Need Managed Care Why do Republicans think health plans are free market health care? Managed care plans were given their current power over health care by the HMO Act, Medicare Advantage and now Obamacare. The Supreme Court says Congress set up managed care plans specifically to ration care. And Obamacare made sure the only insurance option left in America is managed care. Although Democrats often oppose managed care corporations, Obamacare put these plans in charge. Now Republicans have enacted a law the White House is happy about because it expands Obamacare payment strategies that will encourage doctors to ration care to their patients.
