Health Freedom Minute April 6, 2012

National Data System On the Move In April 2004 President George W. Bush issued an executive order to develop a national medical records system. It was called the National Health Information Network. The NHIN. The NHIN is a network of networks. A national collection of state or regional health information exchanges linked together with federal software. The feds established their own information exchange as a pilot project. The fedʼs NHIN Exchange connects data from four federal agencies and a host of hospitals and health plans. Most state health information exchanges do not require patient consent before the data goes online nationwide. That should change. “National health informaiton network soon will stand on its own,” Pamela Lewis Dolan, amednews, March 29, 2012.

Presented daily by Twila Brase, President, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom. The Health Freedom Minute is now heard in 37 states: Mornings M-Th at AM1280 (The Patriot) in MN and 91.5 AM WHKC (FreedomFM) in OH, afternoons on American Family Radio, and daily on the Bott Radio Network.
