Health Freedom Minute December 6, 2012

Preventive Care vs. Patient Care Obamacare wants to identify the unhealthy among us. States must create and report “individualized risk scores.” The Medicare wellness visit is a government inspection of body and home. And insurers must cover tests and procedures recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. Experts say arranging for and counseling patients about these prevention services would require “1,773 hours” of the doctorʼs time each year, or 7.4 hours a day. A doctorʼs quality scores could be lowered for failure to comply. But this leaves little time for diagnosis and treatment, so you choose: prevention or patient care? “Why the Doctor Canʼt See You,” John C. Goodman, The Wall Street Journal, August 15, 2012.

Presented daily by Twila Brase, President, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom. The Health Freedom Minute is now heard in 37 states: Mornings M-Th at AM1280 (The Patriot) in MN and 91.5 AM WHKC (FreedomFM) in OH, afternoons on American Family Radio, and daily on the Bott Radio Network.
