Health Freedom Minute November 30, 2011

Premiums Going Up, Up, Up Welcome to the Health Freedom Minute. This is Twila Brase, president of Citizensʼ Council for Health Freedom. Health insurance premiums are going up, up, up. The annual premium for family coverage has doubled since 2001. Ten years ago the average annual family premium was $7,061 dollars. Thatʼs $588 per month. This year, itʼs $15,073 dollars, or $1,256 dollars per month - a 113 percent increase. Why is this? First, Congress empowered an HMO takeover of insurance in 1973. Second, as government programs grow, the unfunded costs are shifted to the private sector. Third, health plans charge employers more than individuals would pay. Fourth, individuals donʼt pay the bills. And fifth, Obamacare. The Health Freedom Minute is now heard in 37 states: Mornings M-Th at AM1280 (The Patriot) in MN and 91.5 AM WHKC (FreedomFM) in OH and afternoons on American Family Radio.
