The Wedge, Medicaid and Medicare The Wedge of Health Freedom® has family doctors, pediatricians, specialists, house call doctors, and a radiology facility. All practices are cash, check or charge. Many are direct primary care, so patients pay a monthly fee that covers all or most services. Others charge a fee for each service. Some give charity. I’m often asked, “What about the people who can’t pay?” Costs can be surprisingly affordable. One practice has 50% Medicare patients. Another practice has 20 percent Medicaid and 10 percent Medicare. And one southern internist doesn’t charge people if they develop cancer. Independent doctors can do things differently. Check it out at Jointhewedge.com.
