Medicare for All — Silent on Funding $32 Trillion Cost Today is the last day of my four-week overview of Medicare for All. I hope it was helpful. The bill creates a Universal Medicare Trust Fund. It will include money saved by shutting down the Obamacare exchanges and funds sent from state workers compensation programs—plus all money appropriated for Medicare, Medicaid, the federal employee benefits program, TRICARE and any other federal program paying for medical services. But this is not enough to cover every person in the US, including illegal immigrants. Nothing says where the money will come from to pay for the $32 trillion cost of just the first 10 years of Medicare for All. On this, the bill is silent. “Medicare for All Act of 2019 (Jayapal),” https://jayapal.house.gov/wpcontent/uploads/2019/02/Medicare-for-All-Act-of-2019-Bill-Text.pdf
