M4A – Outlawing Private Insurance

This is my seventh Minute on Medicare for All. Here is how it ends private insurance. Private coverage would only be available for two years. The first persons to enter the program, starting just one year after enactment, would be younger than age 19 or older than age 54. For those two years, Americans would be allowed to keep their private insurance, employer-sponsored coverage, or today’s version of Medicare. But two years after enactment, everyone would be in Medicare for All and it would be unlawful to sell health insurance that duplicates any of the coverage in Medicare for All, whether you can or cannot access those benefits. Socialized medicine would be fully in force.
