Medicare for All – False “Freedom of Choice” Promise Welcome to day four of Medicare for All. The bill’s second promise is “Freedom of Choice,” in which those entitled to benefits “may obtain health services from any institution, agency, or individual qualified to participate under this Act.” Thus, entitled services could only be obtained from those qualified to participate. This means the doctor, the hospital or other provider must sign a participation agreement with the government, must share your confidential information with the government, can’t ask for payment beyond what the government pays, and must comply with national minimum standards set by and monitored by the government. Your only choice for care under Medicare for All is a provider whose contract is with the government, not with you. “Medicare for All Act of 2019 (Jayapal),” scribd.com: https://www.scribd.com/document/400662193/Medicare-for-All-Act-of-2019Jayapal
