Ask Your Doctor How He’s Doing When you see doctors, ask how they’re doing and how the ACA impacts their practice. One doctor says only one percent of the patients at his medical center have Obamacare and 5 percent are uninsured. But the Affordable Care Act disrupted the care of the other 94 percent of patients. Plus, Congress’s computerized data reporting mandate forced his practice to spend $170,000—more than $15,000 per doctor not counting the ongoing costs of maintaining the new electronic health record system. He called this mandate a transfer of wealth from doctors to the technology industry. His medical center is also facing shortages of saline IV solutions, putting his patient’s lives at risk.
