Title I School – Parent / Student Compact Middle Township High School will provide a rigorous curriculum and instruction in a safe, supportive and effective learning environment that encourages participating students to meet the Common Core State Standards, along with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. In addition, participating students will be provided additional academic support through a tier 2 academic support class that meets every day to provide academic support, adult mentoring and additional accommodations as warranted. Fall and spring parent-teacher conferences will be held on November 17th and 18stand February 9th. In addition, parents may communicate with teachers via e-mail, telephone or during prearranged conferences. Parents will be able to view their child’s academic and attendance records through the parent portal component of Power School. This information is updated at least on a weekly basis. Also, student progress reports are distributed mid marking period, along with a report card at the end of each quarter. The distribution dates are posted on the district calendar and district website. Parents are encouraged to participate in our Parent Advisory Committee that meets at least 4 times throughout the school year. Also, they are encouraged to sign up for the e-mail list that provides information throughout the year of various events and news as it relates to Middle Township High School. Various events and organizations will ask for parent volunteers to help with events, such as the Culture Fair, the Band and various performance-based events. Parents are urged to be active partners in their child’s school experience to increase student’s academic success. Student development, growth and learning benefit significantly through parent involvement in all aspects of school life. We encourage each parent to support his/her child by becoming a member of the Parent Advisory Committee, utilizing the Parent Portal in Power School and accessing information on the school’s website and through various emails. Information is posted regarding upcoming events on the website for parents to view. Again, it is important for parents to remain a positive influence on his/her child’s education throughout high school to create a positive and learning environment for student success.
