“2013 Guys / Gals Modified Pinehurst Tournament” Event: September 28 (Saturday) – Challenge Course Notice to Competitors The USGA Rules of Golf and the ArrowCreek Country Club Local Rules Shall Govern Play Partners:

4 Person Teams (2 Guys + 2 Gals). Teams will be determined using A,B,C,D format by index. Spouses and Significant others will not be paired together.

Format:

9:00 a.m. shotgun start on the Challenge Course. NET Modified Pinehurst Format. All players tee off on each hole. The Guys will pick from the best shot of the Gals and vice-a-versa. The two Guys will both hit from there, select the best 2nd shot and then alternate shot from that point on. If you choose player A’s 2nd shot then player B will hit the third shot. The Gals play the same format after choosing from the Guys tee shot. Start the process over again on the next tee. Each team member must contribute at least 3 tee shots. A hosted luncheon and awards presentation will follow play.

Score:

There will be two scores recorded per 4 person team. One score from the Gals and one score from the Guys.

Handicaps:

Course Handicap, before adjustment, is based on the current revision of the player’s Index. The player with the lower Course Handicap is allowed 60 percent of his Course Handicap. The Player with the higher Course Handicap is allowed 40 percent of his Course Handicap. The total is rounded off with fractions of 0.5 or more rounded upward. The ArrowCreek Handicap Policy is in effect for this event.

Men shall play the Sage Tees Ladies shall play the Sun Tees

Fees:

Entry fees are $30 per person. Entry includes lunch.

Eligibility:

Competitors must be members of the ArrowCreek Men’s Golf Club or a member of the ArrowCreek Ladies Golf Club and must have an established USGA Handicap Index.

Entry:

Sign up on the Members website. The Golf Shop staff will not accept call-in entries.

Deadline:

The deadline for sign up is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26th.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be made no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26th.

Ties:

All ties will split money.

Prizes:

Golf Shop credit will be paid to the top 30% of the field. All NET.

Notes: • Competitors shall play without undue delay (Rule 6-7). • All strokes in contention shall be holed out (Rule 3-2). • Scorecards shall be completed, signed, attested and returned to the scoring table. Incorrect, signed scorecards will be disqualified without discussion. • Ground Under Repair – All newly seeded and/or bare areas on the course through the green will be played as GUR. Players may take free relief from these areas. Please notify your playing competitors and find the NEAREST POINT OF RELIEF, no closer to the hole. There is only 1 nearest point of relief for each relief situation. You do not get choose from multiple locations to take relief. • Abnormal Ground Conditions – Players may take free relief from any animal holes and trails, aerified holes, GUR, ect. Please notify your playing competitors before taking relief. • The Men’s Club “Hard Card” rules are in effect for this event. • Doubt as to procedure (Rule 3-3). Any player may proceed under rule 3-3 when in doubt as to how to proceed with a ruling. The player must announce their intention before playing a second ball and report to the rules committee before signing their scorecard.
