No Jams, No Clogs Excellent for sewage bypass and other solids-handling applications. Gorman-Rupp has many models of J Series® submersible pumps. These pumps are available with 3" (75 mm) to 20" (500 mm) discharge sizes, capacities to 15,000 GPM (950 lps) with heads to 265' (81 m) and power ratings from 2.7 to 215 HP. J Series pumps are designed specifically for trash handling and incorporate several engineering features that prevent jamming and clogging, the two most common problems in pumping fluids containing solids.

External axial adjustment
No jamming
Gorman-Rupp J Series pumps will operate at peak efficiency by maintaining the proper clearance between the impeller and volute. The impeller clearance can be adjusted quickly and easily by turning three external screws. No disassembly or replacement parts are necessary.
Gorman-Rupp offers two types of innovative J Series impellers. Standard models include a self-cleaning, axial flow single vane impeller that forces debris away from the clearance between the impeller and the volute casing to prevent jamming. In addition, auxiliary impeller vanes eliminate the back flow created by the pressure difference above the clearance. The back flow problem is common with traditional impellers. The auxiliary vanes act like a pump, decreasing the flow through the clearance, keeping impurities away from the area prone to jamming.
No clogging J Series impellers have a large free passage that will handle up to 5-1/2" (140 mm) diameter spherical solids, depending on the pump model. The semiaxial flow impeller has long, screw-like vanes for handling rags and other debris.
