October 26 (Monday): GET GO’ing Burden Museum and Gardens $8.00 per Person -- Pay at the Venue 4560 Essen Lane Burden Museum & Gardens offers discovery and adventure through historic, natural and educational experiences that provide a window into Louisiana’s rich, cultural past. Situated on 440 acres in the heart of Baton Rouge, it is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the flora and fauna of Louisiana’s lush landscapes and agricultural heritage. We will be given a guided tour of the facility and grounds. We will meet at 10:00 am. Please pay at the venue. RSVP REQUIRED

Mission Trip to Haiti Lauryn Gehling, Ochsner employee, will be making the mission trip. The following items are needed: $$ for Haitian Creole Bibles Children’s books in Creole Tennis shoes all sizes Flip-flops for children ages 2yrs and up –all sizes (more larger than smaller) Disposable eating utensils (forks, spoons, plates) School supplies (pens, paper, notebooks, pencils, crayons, etc) Children & Adult T-shirts (whites and colors) Hard Candy Activities for children of all ages: outdoor games, crayons, markers, beading (Mardi Gras beads), jewelry making, bubbles, play dough, sunglasses, jump ropes, balls, matchbox cars, etc.

Deadline for donations October 11th. You may bring the donations to the GO office.

NOTE: For the members living in and around the Denham Springs area, a new policy for bus trips has been incorporated. We will pick up at the Piccadilly Cafeteria, if we are traveling in that direction, for the trip. You will have to inform the GO office that you want to be picked up at that location.
