November Calendar of Events River Parish Region GREAT NEWS TO REPORT! We are currently offering exercise classes with our instructor Ms. Kathy Koehl. Kathy offers exercise/core strengthening procedures to prevent our seniors from falling, which is the number one cause for hospitalizations among seniors. Classes are held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:15 a.m. They meet in the Medical Office Building 3rd floor Conference Room. We are now able to lower the cost to $10.00 per month so that many more members can benefit from this great program. This is a super bargain for one-on-one exercise instructions from a licensed instructor. Strengthen your core so that you may remain independent. The members who have been attending classes praise Kathy and her program. Please note: all current members who have prepaid will be credited for the following months. November 10, 2015 (Tuesday): Pot Luck Lunch PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE We will have a pot luck lunch to celebrate and give thanks for all of our blessings. The members will bring a covered dish and Ochsner Golden Opportunity will supply drinks and all paper products. LePavillon Lunch Buffet
We will depart from Ochsner Kenner Medical Center in front of the hospital at 10:00 a.m. We will drive to Ochsner River Parish to pick up our members for 10:30 a.m. (if there are no unavoidable traffic issues). We will then proceed to LePavillon on Poydras St. We should arrive at the LePavillon at 11:00 a.m. We will have a fantastic lunch at the newly renovated LePavillon Hotel and depart at 1:00 p.m. for the Riverwalk where there is shopping or you can take a rest and watch the ships coming and going on the great Mississippi River. Council on Aging
We are very pleased to have Ms. Leslie Cioti from the Council on Aging, Representing Senior Health Insurance. Ms. Cioti will give us a talk on Medicare Open Enrollment and what’s new for 2016. She will also be able to tell us what’s available for seniors in the River Parish area. Come prepared with your questions.

Christmas Luncheon Ormond Plantation
Ormond Christmas Luncheon, we will be joining the Main Campus of Golden Opportunity Group for this wonderful Christmas buffet. The cost is $55 per person (includes Motorcoach transportation and buffet lunch). We will pick up members at Ochsner Kenner at 10:30 a.m. and pick up at Ochsner River Parish at 11:00 a.m. then proceed to Ormond Plantation. Menu enclosed. PLEASE RSVP Announcements: A dedicated telephone line has been set up with Ochsner Scheduling Department for GO members to schedule medical appointments without any delays. The number is: 504-842-6538. When a fee is involved, it must be received within 5 days of making the reservation to confirm your seat. Please check availability with the GO office before mailing a check. All trips are non-refundable. Every attempt will be made to sell your seat to someone on the waiting list if you need to cancel. YOU ARE NOT SCHEDULED FOR THE EVENT UNTIL THE CHECK IS RECEIVED. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL DUES - $10.00 PER PERSON / PER YEAR. Don’t miss out on future activities!
