June 29 (Thursday): LUNCH AND LEARN “Being Mortal” presented by Dr. Timothy Riddell. 11:30am to 2:00pm. The "Being Mortal Project" is a nationwide public awareness campaign coordinated by the Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) on the importance of talking about end-of-life preferences and goals with loved ones and medical professionals. The project uses the PBS Frontline film "Being Mortal", based on the book of the same name by Atul Gawande, MD, to educate audiences and encourage people to take concrete steps to identify and communicate their wishes for end of life care. Upcoming Events July 18, 2017 (Tuesday) Journey to Baton Rouge’s Old Capitol Museum via motor coach, tour the museum and view “The Ghost of the Castle” 4D presentation. Lunch on your own at Roux 61-a favorite of the local residents. The day ends at the Louisiana State Archives to view exhibits and learn how to research your family history. $30 per person.
