Volunteer Registration Form 2016 Great Cocky Count

OPTIONAL Are you willing to travel a bit further to do the count? The Great Cocky Count has been a great success over previous years and we continue to see an increase in volunteer participation. However, most of our volunteers are from the Perth metropolitan area, which means we are collecting excellent data for urban areas, but not so much for peri-urban and rural areas. It is crucially important to understand the numbers of cockatoos across their range, and as such, we’re asking volunteers to let us know if you’re willing to travel a bit further away to survey a site where we are lacking data. Please fill out the following information if you are willing for us to assign you a survey site a little further away. Do you consider your current location to be Rural or Urban?

Rural

Urban

Would you consider counting at a Peri-Urban or Rural location?

Yes

No

If so, how far are you willing to travel from your location?

Additional Comments?

A member of the BirdLife team will be in touch prior to the Great Cocky Count to advise you of your allocated roost site.

Report a Roost Site! Help us to identify more roost sites for both white-tailed and red-tailed black-cockatoos! Roosts are places where black-cockatoos rest at night. Important information on the location of critical roosting habitat is collected through the GCC, and is increasing with every GCC completed. If you know about a night-time roost site, or you think you have a black-cockatoo roost site near you, please tell us about it at [email protected] or (08) 9287 2251. Please send completed forms via email or post to: [email protected] or Great Cocky Count Coordinator BirdLife Australia Peregrine House, 167 Perry Lakes Drive, Floreat, WA 6014
