Teacher Certification: Principal Endorsement on Illinois’ Professional Educator License

Why Educational Administration?

This program prepares teachers to advance to a principalship or other leadership positions in schools.

Educational Administration at SIUE

There are three programs that lead to the Principal Endorsement on Illinois’ Professional Educator License and/or Initial Administrative Certification in Missouri: (1) a master’s program; (2) a specialist’s program for students who already hold a master’s, and; (3) a certification - only (non-degree) program for students who already hold a master’s, but do not wish to pursue an additional graduate degree.

Career Outlook at SIUE

The Principal Endorsement on Illinois’ Professional Educator License is required for anyone seeking the position of principal in Illinois public schools. As well, the endorsement may be required for other school and/or district leadership positions. This program also meets the requirements for Missouri (Initial) Elementary and Secondary Principal Certificates.
