It’s conveniently located in the downtown district on the river’s bluff just steps from dining, shopping, entertainment and many of the city’s famous attractions. History and hospitality go hand in hand in Natchez – recently named one of the “100 Must-See Destinations” by Life magazine. Gorgeous views, local charm and sites also earned Natchez a listing in the New York Times bestseller, 1000 Places to See Before You Die. Natchez was also recognized as the Best Small City for a Weekend by AAA Southern Traveler Magazine. For almost 300 years, this quaint, southern city has captivated national and international visitors alike with its charm and grace. Situated on the banks of the Mississippi River, Natchez offers something for everyone. Horse-drawn carriages ranging in size from 6 to 10 passengers depart the corner of Canal and State Streets daily, from 10:00 am until dark, on a first-come basis. These tours last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour through the historic district and the narration points out buildings and areas of historic significance. Arrangements can be made for weddings, or specialty after-hour tours. Tickets may be purchased at the Visitor Center or from the carriage drivers. The Natchez Trolley makes 10 stops throughout downtown Natchez. The stops are indicated by the numbers in orange circles and are strategically planned so that you can get off and walk easily to attractions and restaurants. Trolley passes are sold only at the Natchez Visitor Reception Centre and hours are 9.00 – 5.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.00 – 4.00pm Sunday. An excellent way to become familiar with Natchez is by touring the historic downtown area on foot. Most walking tours begin at Bluff Park, the grassy promenade that skirts Broadway and overlooks the River. Many of the historic sites are St. Mary Basilica, the historic fountain in Memorial Park just behind St. Mary’s, Magnolia Hall, Stanton Hall, First Presbyterian Church, The House on Ellicott Hill, Rosalie Mansion, African-American History & Culture Museum and the Magnolia Bluffs Casino.

As we head back home, we stop for lunch and indulge in an assorted southern food buffet. Wash down the lip-smacking southern comfort food with ice-cold sweet tea. Spin the lazy Susan and enjoy a hearty meal of delicious down home cooking. When a dish starts getting low, out comes a piping hot one straight from the oven! The family owned restaurant features a beautiful colonial architecture and has been serving southern delights since 1959. `
