SUNSHINE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: The NPRD believes in providing services and programs to CITY
OF NEENAH RESIDENTS who wish to participate, regardless of ability to pay. If you would like more information on possible financial assistance, an application can be picked up in our office or printed on our website. Eligibility is determined on a case-bybase basis.
FEES: Resident / Non Resident: All registrants will either be a resident of the City of Neenah or a non-resident. Your residency is based on the city/town/village you pay taxes, not necessarily what your mailing address indicates. However, an increased non-resident fee will only be assessed for programs at the Neenah Pool (lessons and season passes) or when renting a facility. RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT: Residents of the City of Appleton, City of Menasha and City of Neenah will pay the resident fee for all programs and facility rentals in each city. Please Note: This does not change the status of residency during registration dates. A City of Menasha / Appleton Resident is still considered a non-resident during the City of Neenah Resident Registration.
REFUNDS: Full refunds are made if NPRD cancels a program. All other cancellations must be done by contacting NPRD at
886-6060 at least 48 hours before a program begins. A $5.00 service charge per transaction is applied to anyone who wishes for a check or credit card reimbursement (we do not refund in cash) OR 100% of the class fee can be applied to your household to be used towards any other activities at a later time.
ACCOMODATIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: The NPRD is committed to meeting the needs of persons with permanent disabilities. Appropriate auxiliary aids and services may be provided as necessary, to enable you to fully participate in parks and recreation services, programs, and activities. NPRD asks that you register and request accommodations as early as possible to ensure necessary accommodations can be coordinated, preferably a one-week notice. ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY FAMILY WAIVER POLICY: The NPRD admires the sacrifice of military personnel and their dependents and wants to provide the support they need. Our department feels that these families should be able to enjoy the many parks, programs and facilities in our community. RESERVATION INFORMATION
To reserve a shelter, call (920)886‐6060. Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. There is no deposit collected at the time of the reservation. A contract is mailed the day the reservation is made and payment is due within 10 days. Shelter Hours are 9AM – 10PM with the exception of the Whiting Boathouse which is 9AM – Midnight. Alcohol is NOT allowed in any park or park shelter in the City of Neenah with the exception of Whiting Boathouse and fenced patio area. Fees are non‐refundable. If you must cancel, call ASAP. If that shelter and date can be re‐rented, you will receive a refund minus five dollars.

Our current culture of busyness, distraction, and urgency leaves us feeling hollow and uneasy – like we’re constantly “on our way” someplace else. Though this path is not sustainable, there is another way: mindfulness. Mindfulness is being in the present moment in an open, non-judgmental way. When we’re mindful, we listen, notice, focus, and create. More importantly, we’re present in our own lives. This 5-week course includes formal instruction on meditation (breath, body, and emotion), current research on mindfulness, methods for cultivating positive experience, and varied suggestions for informal practice. Dance classes will be held at and taught by instructors at Valley Academy for the Arts, 139 N. Lake St., Neenah providing premier instruction in dance, music and the arts for children and adults at every level. also great exercise! Here are some tips to help you & your family enjoy safe skating.
Wear skates that fit comfortably & provide enough ankle support to keep you on your feet. Have the blades professionally sharpened at the beginning of each season. Skate only on specially prepared skating areas where you are sure the ice is strong enough to withstand your weight. Always check for cracks, holes or other debris. Wear warm clothing and rest when you become tired or cold.

Arrowhead Park

Fish Stick Project: In cooperation with the WIDNR, fish sticks will be placed along the shore of the park. Current trees along the shoreline will be cut down, moved into place and anchored. This will increase habitat for fish, turtles and shore birds. Help Wanted – Citizen Monitors: the City is looking for people who regularly use the path at Arrowhead to help us inventory the use of the park by humans, turtles, birds and fish. If interested, please contact Michael Kading at 920.886.6060.
Planning: The City continues to make preparations for the further development of the park. This includes working with the WI-DNR, National Resource Damage Assessment Trustees, Army Corp of Engineers, City officials and residents of the Neenah area.
Loop the Little Lake Trestle Project
Why isn’t anything happening? The project was let out to bid in spring and, unfortunately, the bids came in much higher than expected. We are currently working to secure additional funds. Once the funds are secured, we will once again let out the project for bid and begin the work shortly thereafter. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding!
Washington Park – Redevelopment Project
Phase 1 is nearing completion. You will find a newly relocated ice rink, basketball court, parking lot and the most importantly, the storm water collection area. This area will collect all of the storm water from the hard surfaces and treat the water before it leaves the site. Phase 2 Planning has begun and will include: redevelopment of the trail system, ball field and play equipment. This is currently scheduled to begin in 2018. Phase 3 Building Improvements and Splash Pad (proposed 2019). Phase 4 Tennis and pickle ball courts; sledding hill and finishing work (proposed 2020).
