Definitions
Life – assimilate, grow, respire, and reproduce Soul – conscience, intellect, emotion, will, affections, memory, imagination, reason Spirit – understanding of the spiritual realm as in faith, hope, worship, prayer
Man has all three, although the spirit part was damaged in the fall – 1 Thess 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Triune Man Remedy for Our Spirit As a result of the fall, our spirit is fallen and rejects God, treating Him as an enemy. We live in the flesh (body), directed by the flesh (soul), because our spirit is corrupted by the sin nature. When we receive Christ, our spirit is regenerated and becomes renovated to be as it was intended to be (Justification) – Titus 3:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Triune Man Remedy for Our Spirit
We are also given the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation (Justification). The regeneration of our spirit and the presence of the Holy Spirit in us now has the ability to change the soul (Sanctification) – Romans 12:1-2.

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Triune Man Remedy for Our Spirit
We are also given the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation (Justification). The regeneration of our spirit and the presence of the Holy Spirit in us now has the ability to change the soul (Sanctification) – Romans 12:1-2. Some day (Glorification) the soul and spirit will be perfect again as in creation, and we will receive new bodies!

God forms this relationship we call marriage, the first and most basic of all institutions. Society now tries to redefine this institution.
Hedonism casually plays with sacred things. Adultery becomes acceptable. Divorce leaves homes with no direction and no healthy examples. Abortion tells of a “me” generation. Family and marriage are now redefined.

We need to recover biblical marriage! Marriages need to do away with the concept of self and leisure. We need to regain the sense of purpose and service that come with a biblical, Christ-centered, God-honoring marriage. Marriage does not exist for me but for us and only to honor and glorify God!
