. . . . . . . . . . . . . .A Message from the President . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "The true test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." Frank lin D. Roosevelt

Greetings Women Giving Circle Members! School has started, football season is finally here and its time for us to kick off our 8th year of collective giving! I know you will all join me in thanking Carrie Lee for serving as our President for the past three years. She did a fabulous job! I am pleased to serve in that capacity this year and look forward to serving you along with the Executive Committee. This year's Executive Committee members are Lisa Adel, Susan Barrick, Sheila Dickison, Linda Kallman, Carrie Lee, Susan Parrish, Deborah Rossi, Ericka Ryals, Dee Dee Smith, Marilyn Tubb, Jo Wiggins, and Barzella Papa, with support from Madison Kirby in the Foundation office. The committee has a wonderful slate of events planned for this year starting with our fall luncheon October 9th at Embers. The role of the Grants Committee is being expanded this year to take on duties that were previously managed by Foundation staff. Carrie Lee has agreed to serve as this year's committee chair. A major change implemented is the requirement that finalists for the Impact Grant will make a presentation to the membership at a luncheon and your vote will determine the recipient. The smaller grants will still be determined by the Grants Committee and you will ratify their decision with your vote. To ensure the continued growth of the Circle, we are creating a Recruitment Committee. If you are interested in serving on the committee please send me an email at [email protected]. According to our member survey, most of you want to learn more about programs supporting women and girls in the community. As such, we are considering offering a bus tour of local service providers. Please watch your inbox for a survey that will tell us if this is an activity of interest to you. Thanks again for your continuous support of women and girls in our community. Collectively we can do Great Things! Yours in Service,

Ester Tibbs

Joined the Giving Circle Last year for the 2012 Grants Family She is married to William J. Rossi who is an Entrepreneurship professor at the University of Florida. She has two children, her son, W.J. who serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, and her daughter Michelle. Career She is retired and was the Director of Marketing for the University of Florida's Performing Arts. Hobbies She loves traveling, spending time on Lake Santa Fe, and being with her three grandchildren. Reason for Joining the Giving Circle When she had first heard of the Women's Giving Circle she said it was not "on her radar" as she didn't have the time to devote to it. Later on she was looking to get involved in the community and joined because of her passion for the Giving Circle's mission of serving women and girls in the area. She also enjoys the idea of empowering and helping women through the power of collective giving.

New! - Recruitment Committee Volunteering Opportunity This year the Women's Giving Circle is excited to announce the addition of a new committee to its roster! The Giving Circle will now have a Recruitment Committee whose goal will be to get the attention of friends and women in the area. We will be looking to increase membership, and this will be a very crucial part of the Giving Circle's success. This committee will be headed up by Giving Circle member Sherry Houston! If you are interested in serving on the committee or you are curious and would like to ask some questions email me at

[email protected] or the Giving Circle's President, Ester Tibbs at [email protected].
