Sept. 20 to 22 St. Anthony Shrine, Boston, Mass. Visit our community in Boston to get a taste of friar life. Share meals and conversation, pray and celebrate the Eucharist with us, and learn about our variety of ministries for people in need. Register by Sept. 13.

Experience the Transitus

Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church, NYC Meet our vocation director and other men discerning a call to Franciscan life. Afterward, attend the Transitus, a moving service commemorating the last hours of St. Francis of Assisi’s life. Register by Sept. 26.

Come and See Weekend: Meet Our Student Friars

Dec. 6 to 8 Holy Name College, Silver Spring, Md. Wonder what it’s like to become a friar? Get the scoop from our students in initial formation! You’ll also visit and attend Mass at nearby St. Camillus Church, a multi-cultural Franciscan ministry. Register by Dec. 2. Registration is required for all vocation events. We understand if your schedule does not allow you to stay for the entire time. Feel free to join us when you can.

Can’t make an event? No problem! Create your own vocation event! Just let us know a ministry of our Province, which covers the eastern seaboard from New England to Florida, that you would like to visit. Some possibilities include:  St. Francis Inn, a soup kitchen that provides food, clothing and hospitality to the poor and homeless of Philadelphia, Pa.  St. Francis of Assisi Church, an urban ministry center on Manhattan’s West Side, which operates the longest running Breadline in the U.S. A visit to New York City would also include nearby St. Francis Friends of the Poor residences for formerly homeless people with mental illness  St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Raleigh, N.C., which offers outreach, educational and recreational programs through its Community Center.
