ERTMS TECHNICAL ENGINEER Based at Carlisle Starting salary: TBC following job evaluation This position is responsible for the rollout of ERTMS to all applicable DRS fleet vehicles from Concept through to fleet fitment, testing and into operation. Successful candidates will be required to perform duties which will include: Key initial focal point for all engineering issues relating to ERTMS project under control of the ERTMS project manager. Responsible for controlling all documentation relating to vehicle fitments for archiving and audit trails. Produce accurate weekly report on progress to the ERTMS Project Manager. Performance monitoring of ERTMS system and constituent parts against KPI’s set. Control of timely warranty claims on defective or faulty equipment in an effective manner. Collating and managing information and recording on DRACAS system. Responsible for the full control and supply of materials using DRS internal procedures and systems to capture and support the delivery of the ERTMS Rollout Evaluate design issues including design resolutions on variances of vehicles and vehicle types. To fulfil this role candidates are required to possess the following: Educated to HND level in a relevant engineering discipline or time served apprentice with demonstrated experience in the industry Significant experience of Traction and Traction systems Experience of Working with NR and within NR Project Groups Experience on Project Planning and Delivery on technical based projects Knowledge of the Rail industry Knowledge of ERTMS and abreast of current industry position Knowledge of VMI’s and Technical Bulletins Understanding of Railway certification processes Able to manage several tasks simultaneously with establishment of the correct priorities.
