2ND EMIRATES DIGESTIVE DISEASES WEEK IBD FORUM AND ECCO WORKSHOP
Dear Delegates, Faculty, Partners, On behalf of the Organizing Team, Scientific Committee, I am pleased to invite you to our second Emirates Digestive Diseases Week (EDDW), which is organized by the Emirates Digestive Diseases Group (EDDG) of the College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. In December 2015, we celebrated the enormous success of our inaugural Emirates Digestive Diseases Week that took place in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation. The conference witnessed the announcement of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Award for Research Excellence in Digestive Diseases. This is the first of its kind in the Arab World, which reflects Her Highness’ generous support of education and medical research efforts in the field of gastroenterology. I am thrilled to announce that the second EDDW will build on the success of EDDW 2015. This year’s scientific program is equally rich and exciting. We have used the constructive feedback received from delegates, local and international advisory boards from EDDW 2015 and we added on it. We are delighted to have been able to collaborate with the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO). ECCO will conduct its landmark ECCO Educational Workshop in inflammatory bowel diseases as an integral part of our conference. A panel of distinguished international, regional and local speakers have been recruited to deliver cutting-edge interactive presentations on advances in research and clinical practice in gastroenterology, hepatology, clinical nutrition and therapeutic endoscopy. This year, we have dedicated a larger portion of the conference to launch our first Emirates IBD Forum which will address our local IBD experience and needs. This will be followed by the one-day ECCO Educational Workshop. Also, there will be a variety of clinically relevant topics in gastroenterology with state-of-the-art lectures, forums and workshops. In addition, the conference will feature live endoscopy sessions, as well as hepatology dedicated program. EDDW 2017 is a world-class congress which will transform gastroenterology meetings and will definitely cater to a wide variety of delegates from different backgrounds. The exhibition hall will also keep you entertained with a lot of see while you walk around the various booths and exhibits of leading industry and ample time for networking with colleagues and friends from the UAE and the globe. I hope that will find EDDW 2017 a truly stimulating and memorable event. We look forward to welcoming you in Dubai in the very near future.
