DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center ®
DATASHEET
Design Center
A component of DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center, Design Center is a powerful, easy-‐to-‐use, drag-‐and-‐drop development environment that enables companies to rapidly extend Cloud Automation Center’s standard capabilities by incorporating their business processes and integrating information from existing management tools and applications while providing the same level of secure multi-‐tenancy and automation available with other Cloud Automation Center components. Design Center allows companies to evolve to new IT service delivery paradigms without having to discard prior investments in technology or significantly change the way they operate. Because organizational changes are typically more difficult than technology changes, Design Center’s extensibility can help companies become more efficient and productive very quickly. DynamicOps service automation is specified as a collection of discrete models which describe the process that will be automated, the information that is needed to perform the process, when and where these processes will execute, and who will be allowed to execute these tasks as well as what resources they can execute them against. The DynamicOps Automation Engine then deploys the execution of these models across one or more Distributed Execution Managers. Additional Distributed Execution Managers can be added for scalability, availability, or geographic distribution.

DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center Design Center
DynamicOps Design Center allows administrators to quickly modify existing models or create new custom models in order to deliver custom capabilities independent of DynamicOps releases. DynamicOps models contain the following policies which specify their operational execution parameters: • •
•
•
Secure Multi-‐Tenancy – limits who can see what data and controls who can execute which tasks. Unified Data Model – across DynamicOps and existing databases with automatically generated, secure REST interfaces. Editable Business Logic – using a drag-‐and-‐drop development environment, administrators can define custom business logic leveraging .NET and Windows Workflow. Execution Policies – specify the event that triggers execution and the parameters that control where the task will be executed.
The diagram below shows how the different parts of a DynamicOps model relate to each other. On the left-‐hand side, security policies control who is allowed to execute a specific task and who can access or modify specific data, enabling an administrator to tailor a solution to the specific requirements of a user or group. On the right-‐ hand side, execution policies control when a specific task will be executed and the location or region in which the task will execute.
Cloud Automation Center’s multi-‐vendor, multi-‐platform support combined with its extensible architecture allows it to be rapidly deployed and integrated into any environment, preserving a company’s prior investments in technology and training. While most competitive products lack extensibility, DynamicOps has demonstrated up to a 95% reduction in time and cost associated with these integrations.
