Professional Interests 1.

Research Interests My Current research interests include all matters related to caregiver quality of life as it relates to the care of special needs or atypically developing populations. This would also include the care of those individuals with physical disabilities which may have occurred through illness, aging, or accident. The presence of stress and stress-related illnesses among caregiver populations is also an area of focus. My dissertation research is entitled “Perception of Parenthood as a Mediator between Typically Developing Children and Caregiver Quality of Life.” This quantitative research hypothesizes that those parents with typically developing children in addition to a special needs child would have a greater sense of self-worth and quality of life when compared to those parents with a special needs child and no other children.

2.

Teaching Interests My current teaching interests include a vast majority of bachelor’s level psychology courses. These include Introductory Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality, Behavioral Statistics, and Psychology of Religion. While these are not all the classes that I have taught, they do represent those that I prefer and enjoy the most.
