July Celebration

One of our kitchen’s specialties is being served this month, Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and a dinner roll with a brownie sundae for dessert. Grammy nominated, gifted vocalist and accomplished musician, Ron Sluga will provide entertainment with his guitar, banjo, mandolin, and button box. Cost is $6. International Potluck Picnic at Mentor Beach Park

The views are spectacular and we always have a great time rain or shine at this popular venue. Any member that has a need for special assistance is eligible for the Special Elders Program. Fall Classes Sign Up Schedule For Fall Classes Mentor residents: August 10 Nonresidents: August 11 Senior Center membership is required to participate in Senior Center activities including classes, trips and programs. Please register and pay at least one week before the beginning date of each class. The City of Mentor accepts Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercard. When registering online, Discover and American Express may also be used. PROGRAM/ACTIVITY REFUND GUIDELINES 1. A full refund or transfer is available if Mentor Senior Center cancels the program/activity. 2. Fitness Center/Exercise Equipment Training We have cardiovascular equipment including 5 treadmills, 3 bikes, 2 seated ellipticals, and 3 standing ellipticals. The Tuff Stuff strength station offers a wide variety of exercises and the Precor stretch trainer offers great stretching options. You must be 55 years or older, a member of the senior center and must take the Exercise Equipment Training Class to participate. Food and Nutrition Classes The Food & Nutrition Program offers individuals a chance to learn about portion control, adding fruits & vegetables to their plate, and most importantly, how to read a food label. Participants that complete each class will receive $10 in farmers’ market vouchers per class that can be used at the Mentor Market or the Painesville Farmers’ Market. Participants can complete each class topic only once. For each class completed, they will get a $10 voucher, for up to $30 voucher if they complete all 3 classes.
