Health Freedom Minute June 12, 2012

NY to Track All Prescriptions The governor of New York recently announced a plan to enact a real-time 24/7 electronic tracking system for prescription drugs. This drug monitoring registry will require all prescriptions to be electronically transmitted from the doctor to the pharmacy. The governor says New York State will become a “National Leader in Fighting Prescription Drug Abuse.” It is amazing what police powers are being foisted upon Americans to stop crime. This medication surveillance system will actually make New York State a national leader in striking down citizen and patient freedom. By taking away Fourth Amendment rights to stop crime, New York presumes you are guilty until proven innocent. “Governor Cuomo, Attorney General Schneiderman, and Legislative Leaders Announce Agreement to Make New York State a National Leader in Fighting Prescription Drug Abuse.” (press release). Governorʼs Press Office, June 5, 2012.
