During the past year he has served as a member of the Ochsner Patient Research Advisory Board as well as helping people with their numerous Medical, Medicare, Pension and 401(K) questions. For our members he is offering to act as an unpaid adviser to help with your benefit issues. January 13 (Wednesday): “Short Stories of a Southern Town” presented by John Case, Slidell Magazine’s “Storyteller”, at the Northshore Harbor Center (100 Harbor Center Boulevard, Slidell). John’s talent is in creating and telling a story, using rich characters and scenes that fill you with images of days gone by and life as it was in rural America. 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After a tour of the Harbor Center, we will enjoy a buffet lunch from Patton’s Restaurant, followed by John’s storytelling. $20pp RSVP REQUIRED January 15 (Friday): LUNCH AND LEARN "Hypertension and Stroke Prevention” by William Ellerbee, M.D., Department of Family Medicine. January 29 (Friday): Bus trip to WWII Museum. Enjoy touring the museum at your own pace and dine at one of the onsite restaurants. Before returning home, we will visit Morning Call in City Park for refreshments. Departure from Covington at 8:45am, pickup in Slidell at 9:30am. $40 pp includes bus transportation and museum admission. RSVP REQUIRED

**A dedicated telephone line has been set up with Ochsner Scheduling Department for GO members to schedule medical appointments without any delays. The number is: 985-871-2546 (CALL GO). **When a fee is involved, it must be received within 5 days of making the reservation to confirm your seat. If not received, your seat will be filled by another member. Please check availability with the GO office before mailing a check. All trips are non-refundable. Every attempt will be made to sell your seat to someone on the waiting list if you need to cancel. YOU ARE NOT SCHEDULED FOR THE EVENT UNTIL THE CHECK IS RECEIVED. Disclaimer: All GO events are subject to change. Ochsner Golden Opportunity has the right to adjust events without formal notice. IMPORTANT NOTE: In an effort to streamline the operations of the program, effective immediately the annual renewal fees of $10.00 will be due on January 1 of each year regardless of the month you joined. Letters will be mailed in December concerning this change. If you renewed your membership between January and July of 2015, you will need to send in 2016 renewal fees of $10.00 by 1/1/16. If your renewal date is currently July 1 to December 31 and you paid those dues, they will be applied to 2016, making your revised renewal date 1/1/17.
