WELCOME TO SEASON 2018 Dear Player/Parent/Guardian Welcome to Forest Killarney Football Club for the 2018 season. We are pleased that you have chosen us, and we hope you enjoy becoming part of the Club Family. This will be another exciting year ahead as we continue to grow our club and its reputation as one of the most supportive and encouraging sports clubs in the Manly Warringah Football Association. Our aim is to ensure that while you are participating in competition football and developing your skills that you are also enjoying the experience of a team sport which exceeds your expectations all while making many new lifelong friends. This Welcome Kit has been designed to provide players and parents with some basic information about the club and set the expectation of what it means to be part of our club. The registration and grading period can sometimes be a difficult time, so if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact myself or a member of the committee. Our Website with all the information you will require for the season is www.fkfc.com.au Online Registrations Player registrations need to be completed online by the individual player (parent/guardian) prior to grading and forming teams. For more information including a step-by-step guide please check out the “Player Registration” section on our website. Registration Fees The schedule of the Registration fees for 2018 has also been posted on the club website with fees broken up showing how they are distributed. Please also note that a player will not be registered unless full payment is made. This year saw the introduction of a NSW Government initiative with the new ‘Active Kids program’. From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school. The Club is limited in its ability to assist anyone that may find it difficult to pay the registration fee at the time of Registration. Should anyone find themselves in this situation please contact the club registrar. Player Grading Forest Killarney Football Club Committee has placed a great emphasis on creating a fair and equitable grading process for players and those involved with the club. The overarching policy has been established by the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA) that requires Association Clubs to carry out individual player grading to form teams based upon ability. Player grading was conducted by a Selection Committee made up of club members who are coaches or experienced players. The posting of grading results is rolling out from 22 February and shown on the Website. Coaches and Managers For those wishing to coach or manage a team this year – we welcome you with open arms. You will need to complete the registration process which is again shown on our website. We also require that all those nominating for a coach or manager position provide an email address to enable us to supply any and all information direct to each team via the coach and/or manager. Child Protection Act All Coaches, Managers and all persons working with children are required to complete the new

Junior Team Muster Day For all players in U6’s U7’s and U8’s please see the Website for details of team Muster day being held Sunday 25th February at Melwood Oval Club House. Team Muster is to allow parents and players for U6-U8 age groups to form themselves into teams, nominate Coaches and Managers, and establish training times for the playing season. Please save the date for this event and allow as much time as necessary to meet other parents and conclude election of essential team roles. Competition Dates All junior/senior/women’s competitions will commence on the weekend of 6-8 April for the winter season. We will post links to fixtures using the MWFA site as soon as they are announced. All teams have to be graded and registered with the MWFA by the 18th March. Sponsorship Club sponsorship plays a vital role for our clubs success; in 2017 we have sponsorship packages available for all businesses both large and small. For more information please check out the “Club Sponsorship” section of our website. Club Merchandise Club Merchandise will be available to purchase throughout the season. Please check out the “Club Merchandise” section of our website for merchandise and prices, including special package deals. Club Future We are exploring plans to upgrade the clubhouse with Northern Beaches Council support. The appointment of Hannah Bromley, professional player at World Cup and W-League level, as the WPL Coach and Girls Football Ambassador renews the focus on girl’s football with our club. The division 1 U12 and U14 boys finished the 2017 year as the NSW Champions of Champions. We are improving guidance and training for our coaches with our involvement in the FFA CCC Program. We have invested in new training equipment and have commenced the Academy Training Program for players wanting to upskill and have additional expert training. A fresh-look website is in the design phase and is intended to be rolled out in 2018. Our club is administered by some committed and talented volunteers and it is important that this group is continually expanded upon year to year to keep the club moving forward and progressive. There are many opportunities at the club for volunteers to become involved and make a difference, so please do not hesitate to contact your team manager/coach or one of our committee members if you would like to help out and join a great team. Without volunteers the club cannot run and our kids can’t play so if you are required on game day or otherwise please get involved. I would like to sincerely thank all Committee members, parents, players, sponsors and supporters of our great club, as we aim to continue to build upon the solid foundations of those who have come before us to ensure that our traditions and values remain strong. There is a great team spirit and family atmosphere built at the club and we look forward to continuing this throughout the 2018 season and beyond. GO FOREST! Yours truly, Craig Nicol - President
