February 2017 Calendar of Events Baton Rouge Region February 1 (Wednesday): BREAKFAST BUNCH: “Disaster Preparedness for Homeowners” Presented by: Judy Bradshaw Judy will educate us on practical things you can do to protect your FAMILY, HOME and FINANCIAL FUTURE: Identify risks and make family emergency plan, gathering and storing critical documents you’ll need post-disaster to apply for assistance, to make insurance claims and take care of legal, financial and medical needs, knowing what your insurance does and does not cover, questions to ask your agent to avoid gaps in coverage, common barriers to recovery and how to prepare an insurance claim, ways to physically protect your home to avoid or reduce damage caused by natural hazards, and how to avoid contractor fraud. Depart from Ochsner Plaza II: 9:00 am Return Time: 5:30 pm With a history dating back to 1872, the Fair Grounds Race Course is the third oldest continuously operating thoroughbred racetrack and one of the most famous racetracks in the US. The Fair Grounds has seen more than its share of horse racing history made along its mile-long oval. We will dine in the Club House and enjoy a buffet of: Corned Beef & Cabbage, Blackened Shrimp Tortellini, Blackened Catfish, Loaded Mashed Potatoes (no bacon), Vegetable du jour, Fresh Mixed Greens w/ Assorted Toppings & Dressings, Assorted Pies/Cakes. Soft Drinks, Iced Tea & Coffee Included.
