Motion to approve on the recommendation of the Superintendent the following Personnel action items: 5.2.1

Approve the retirement of Gayle Dierks, Principal at CMS Elementary School effective August 1, 2014 with appreciation for thirteen years of service to the Mount Olive Township School District.

Approve the retirement of Marie Cogger, Teacher of Social Studies at Mount Olive Middle Schools effective July 1, 2014 with appreciation for ten years of service to the Mount Olive Township School District.

Approve the change of employment for Anna Ondrik from Van Driver to Bus Driver in the Transportation Department at step one (1) - $23.35 per hour on the Bus Drivers’ Salary Guide, five (5) hours per day, five (5) days per week, effective May 1, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year, replacing Robert Tonczos, Sr. (Budgeted)

5.2.19

For reasons to consolidate and reorganize programs to assure maintenance of an efficient educational program, this Board of Education determines that a reduction in force is necessary. Implementation of the administrative recommendations of the Superintendent will be cost effective and will deploy district personnel in an appropriate and efficient manner without adversely affecting the high qualify of the current academic programs. Reduce the following positions effective July 1, 2014: 1 FTE Instructional Supervisor – Special Education 1 FTE Literacy Supervisor, K-8 As a result of this reduction, approve the reassignment of Deborah Huffman, Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant, fte at Mount Olive Middle School at step thirteen (13) MA $76,554* effective July 1, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year. As a result of this reduction, approve the reassignment of Margaret Hipwell, Elementary Instructional Supervisor, fte at Mt. View School at step four (4) - $113,384 on the Administrator and Supervisor Salary Guide, effective July 1, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year. The following non-tenured certificated staff member terminated effective June 30, 2014 as a result of reassignment of tenured certificated staff member with “bumping rights”: Chad Donahue, Elementary Instructional Supervisor

Motion to approve on the recommendation of the Superintendent the following Curriculum and Instruction action items: 5.3.1

Approve St. Clare’s Hospital, Boonton, NJ to provide educational instruction to regular education student #21005 from March 27, 2014 to April 11, 2014 for approximately 10 hours at $54.00 per hour. Total estimated cost: $540.00 (Budgeted)

5.3.2

Approve Brianne Dennis, Newton, NJ to provide psychological evaluations to appropriate classified students throughout the district from April 2, 2014 to June 27, 2014 for approximately 12 evaluations at $300.00 per evaluation. Total estimated cost: $3,600.00 (Budgeted)

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mount Olive Township Board of Education, in the County of Morris, New Jersey approved the 2014-2015 school district budget for submission to the NJ Department of Education as follows: General Fund Special Revenue Fund Debt Services Fund Total Base Budget

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to acknowledge that the 2014-15 budget as described above results in a General Fund tax levy of $60,863,620 and a Debt Service tax levy of $4,587,826. WHEREAS, the district has a taxing authority which is composed of $148,010 for the 2012-13 school year, $399,450 for the 2013-14 school year, and $44,462 for the 2014-15 school year for health benefits in addition to the 2% cap increase over the prior year which totals $60,863,620 resulting in a maximum tax levy available of $61,455,542. WHEREAS, the Board has approved that there should be raised for the General Fund a tax levy of $60,863,620 for the ensuing School Year (2014-2015).

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mount Olive Township Board of Education, in the County of Morris, State of NJ approved that the unused taxing authority of $148,010 for the 2012-13 school year, $399,450 for the 201314 school year, and $44,462 for the 2014-15 school year be banked for potential use in subsequent fiscal years.
