DNA-People’s Legal Services – Project Manager for Four Corners Legal Care

DNA-People's Legal Services is a non-profit legal aid organization, founded on the Navajo Nation in 1967. DNA is an acronym for Diné be'iiná Náhiilna be Agha'diit'ahii, a Navajo phrase that means "attorneys who work for the revitalization of the people." With ten office locations throughout the Four Corners region, DNA provides civil legal assistance to low-income individuals, regardless of race or ethnicity. DNA-People’s Legal Services is seeking to hire a Project Manager for Four Corners Legal Care, DNA’s medical-legal partnership (MLP) program. Four Corners Legal Care offers trainings for health providers and comprehensive legal assistance for low-income patients at two hospitals and three health centers on the Navajo Nation. By focusing on cases that promote income growth, housing stability, and personal safety, the MLP uses legal advocacy as a tool to address social determinants of health. The Project Manager will help DNA evaluate the effectiveness of Four Corners Legal Care and disseminate information regarding the value of the MLP model in tribal communities. The Project Manager will also lead DNA’s efforts to support the development of new MLPs in Indian Country, which may include fundraising, grant administration, and technical assistance for emerging MLPs. This position is funded through January 2018. The work location is Flagstaff, Arizona or another DNA office location.

Job Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent organizational skills; Master’s level education, preferably in public health or a related field; Ability to travel throughout the surrounding region; Academic research experience preferred; and Proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.

Compensation: Full-time position; salary based on experience; generous benefit package included. Starting Date Priority will be given to applicants who can start immediately.
