Details, Details© This monologue examines how some people prepare for Christ's return. All too often, we forget the important things we need to do to prepare for His coming. Scene opens as the actor (male, any age) enters the stage, carrying a Bible. He looks around as if someone is hiding on him. He is quite an "eager” guy, constantly smiling. Script Okay, where are you? I know you'll be here any minute, now. Yoo-hooo! Are you here yet? Guess not. Oh well, I know it will be any time. (checking watch) As near as I can calculate, (looking up at audience), and this is just a ballpark estimate, He should be coming somewhere in the area of 7:16 pm. Give or take 1.4 minutes. Turns around, looks at audience as though someone has asked question. How do I know this? Well, good thing you asked! I have this really awesome positive attitude, see my constant smile? Besides, I have done my homework! I know everything there is to know about his return! I have researched the Good Book, (patting the Bible), and I have memorized Revelations and all the predictions it holds. It is so clear! Everything in there that has been predicted about the world has come true! So, I'm ready to go! Turns to audience again. What else have I done to get ready? Lots!! I've made sure I know every parable inside and out, and I can recite the books of the Bible backwards! I've hi-lited every time my name, (looks directly at audience), David, that’s my name, David, every time my name is mentioned in the Bible, and I've learned all about the currency that was used back then! Oh, yes - I'm prepared, all right! Turns to audience again. What did you say? I'm looking forward to the return of who? Jesus Christ? Who’s that? Actor exits.
