3 December 2015 Dear Parents/Carers Inspire and Achieve Year 7 Annual Bowling The Year 7 Bowling trip is on Tuesday 15 December; letters have been given out to pupils. Mock Examinations Year 11 pupils have their mock examinations next week so hopefully they have been revising hard for them. These are key exams as they give us a good indication of pupils’ performance and approach toward their final exams, and help us support college applications with predicted grades. Year 11 pupils should be studying / revising for at least 2 hours every night. Year 11 Progress Interviews Miss Sumner will be meeting with a number of parents on Thursday 17 December to discuss their son/daughter’s progress. This is part of our normal monitoring and tracking systems for Year 11. Challenge Friends of Wellfield Grand Christmas Draw All pupils have today been sent home with a book of raffle tickets for our Friends of Wellfield Grand Christmas Draw. This year’s prize is an iPad Air 2 16Gb Wifi Gold. We ask all pupils and parents to help us raise money for the school by selling these tickets. The draw will take place at midday on Wednesday 16 December. House points will be awarded to pupils for tickets sold. If there are any unsold tickets these can be returned to school in the envelope. Nurture Science Revision Year 11 pupils have been given access to www.my-gcsescience.com which provides excellent resources to aid with revision for their Science GCSE’s. Please encourage your son /daughter to use it as one of their methods of revising for their examinations. If you have any questions please do hesitate to contact the Science department. General Revision Guides We still have general revision guides available for Year 10 and 11 pupils to purchase for £1.50. They are full of useful hints and tips for revising more effectively.
