Summer Day Camp 2018! at Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary ABOUT DAY CAMP: Youth ages 5-12 are invited to these day-long programs which feature learning activities, games, swimming, and crafts in small age-appropriate groups. Camps are interactive and led by a team of trained and enthusiastic educators. The camp day concludes with a special program for parents/ guardians, designed and presented by campers. Day Camps run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with an after-camp option that allows campers to stay later in the day.

FREE TRANSPORTATION FROM RICE LAKE Thanks to our partners at the Boys and Girls Club of Barron County, free transportation is available for three days of the day camp season: June 20, July 11, and August 8. A van will pick up and drop off campers at the Boys and Girls Club Lincoln Clubhouse. Please contact Hunt Hill for more information or visit our website at www.HuntHill.org.

WHAT IS HUNT HILL? Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary is a nature preserve and learning center, open to all, dedicated to fostering an understanding, appreciation and protection for the environment. We are located in Sarona, between Rice Lake and Spooner just west of Long Lake. Hunt Hill protects nearly 600 acres of diverse habitat. Visitors can experience glacial lakes, meadow, new growth and old growth forest as well as two tamarack bogs all within a short walk of the main camp. In addition, miles of trails are free of charge and open to the public to hike and explore. Hunt Hill has a full calendar of year-round events, including Prairie Fling Festival in the spring, youth camps in the summer, and nature programs throughout the year. Experience science up close and personal as we conduct crazy experiments. F 6/22 Nature Art: Discover the artistic side of nature, and make some beautiful art of your own. M 6/25 Unofficial Minecraft Camp: Be creative and work as a team as we bring this popular video game to life. T 6/26 Space Camp: This camp is out of this world! Find out more about our solar system and beyond. W 6/27 Pioneer Camp: Travel back in time and discover the lives of pioneer children nearly 200 years ago. JULY M 7/2 Wizard Camp: We’re going to be wizards at camp! Bring your magic wand, find fantastic beasts and explore the enchanted woods at Hunt Hill! T 7/3 Awesome Amphibians: Learn about these unique critters, and search for frogs, toads, and salamanders. R 7/5 Buzzin’ Bugs: We’re investigating insects! Some may think bugs are creepy, but we think they are COOL! Come learn why insects are amazing. F 7/6 Canoe Camp: Paddle across the lakes at Hunt Hill on an amazing adventure! All levels of canoe experience are welcome. M 7/9 Dino-Mite: Excavate bones, hunt like a velociraptor and explore the world of dinosaurs. T 7/10 Yuck! Camp: Nature can be yucky! We’ll get grossed out as we learn about the distasteful side of nature. W 7/11 Underwater World: What lurks in our lakes? Discover mysterious plants and animals that live in the water. R 7/12 Survival Camp: Working in teams we’ll build shelters, make fire and find food and water in the wild.

AUGUST W 8/8 Feathered Friends: Let’s go birding and learn about the flying feathered creatures that call Hunt Hill home. R 8/9 Carnivore Camp: What’s it like to be a meat-eater? We’ll find out as we learn about the carnivores of Hunt Hill. F 8/10 Wildlife Detectives: What animals live at Hunt Hill? Find clues to figure it out!

F 7/13 Pirate Camp: Dress in your pirate best as we find buried treasure, escape trouble, speak pirate and learn about the lives of these sea “lubers”. M 7/16 Animal Superpowers: Learn about animals who have super strength, lightning speed, and other amazing adaptations. T 7/17 Hunger Games: Design your district outfit, practice survival techniques and see how well you can survive in a hunger games obstacle course. W 7/18 Geology Rocks: “Rock on” as we go on a rock hunt and experiment with how rocks are formed. R 7/19 Raptors: Owls, hawks, and falcons! Learn about these avian predators as we explore the world of birds of prey. F 7/20 Storm Chasers: We’re going wild about weather! Learn the science of clouds, lightning, and much more!
