Problem solving abilities. An understanding of the stages of a design problem. The practical skills of working with various materials, media and processes in order to construct a suitable solution are developed.

Drama at GIS develops:   

Self-expression. Self-confidence. Co-operation.

English at GIS develops:   

The skills required to be confident talkers and respectful listeners. The opportunities to become avid readers. The skills required to be a thoughtful and accurate writer.

English Language Support at GIS develops:   

The students knowledge of the English Language to understand what is taught in the classroom. The students knowledge of the English Language to understand the school life around them. The students knowledge of the English Language to function socially in the school.

Geography at GIS develops:   

A wide range of skills such as investigative techniques and analysis of data. An understanding of world issues. An understanding of the physical environment that the student lives in.

History at GIS develops:   

The skills to evaluate information critically. The skills to express ideas clearly and think as analytically. An understanding and appreciation of their own cultures and personal histories, and to be open to the perspectives, values and traditions of others.

ICT (Information Communication Technology) at GIS develops:   

An understanding of the critical role of ICT in the modern world. The student’s computer literacy skills. An understanding of ICT in subjects beyond ICT.

Mathematics at GIS develops:   

A mathematical understanding that will be useful throughout the students lives. Core and advanced mathematical skills. An understanding of maths beyond the classroom.

The essential vocabulary and grammar of the language studied. An understanding and appreciation of the culture of the language studied. The student’s skills of communication.
