Workshop on Urban Policy Dialogues 2014 Date: August 1, 2014

Shrimoyee Bhattacharya, Senior Researcher from CSTEP attended a workshop on Urban Policy Dialogues, 2014, at the Indian Institute of Human Settlements (IIHS), Bangalore. Eminent experts from various government departments, private organisations and NGOs participated in the dialogue to share their views. The policy dialogue was aimed at brainstorming over the working papers drafted by IIHS on various urban issues under the Urban India Policy Support Partnership with Rockefeller Foundation. The themes covered included India’s Urban Futures, Urban Economy, Urban Poverty, Urban Housing, Urban Water Supply and Sanitation, and Urban Transportation.
Brief presentations on the specific topics mentioned above were followed by feedbacks from a group of experts. There was specific focus on the smart city aspect of infrastructure issues, which has become a key area of focus of the Government of India.
