Dr. Annapoorna Ravichander attended a Workshop titled, “Journalism with Impact: Building a Knowledge Base for Effective Energy Stories in the Media” on Friday, February 26, 2016. The workshop was organised by World Resource Institute. The workshop endeavored to highlight current issues in the energy sector at the state, national, and global levels, and the role of the media in promoting clean energy. The workshop also discussed innovative ways to capture public attention on energy issues, both new and ongoing, focusing on a range of issues in the sector, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and decision-making in the electricity sector in India.
The panelists included Urmi Goswami, Assistant Editor, Economic Times, Eric Mackres, Building Efficiency Initiative, WRI and Bharath Jairaj, Electricity Governance Initiative, WRI to name a few. The question and answer session helped in understanding and revisiting some of the myths that Think Tanks have regarding media.
